Majid H. Khoshafa (Senior Member, IEEE) received his B.Sc. in Communication Engineering from Ibb University, Yemen, in 2007, his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), Canada, in 2022. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as a Radio Network Planning and Optimization Engineer at MTN Telecommunications, Sana’a, Yemen. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as a Lecturer Assistant in the Electrical and Computer Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ibb University, Ibb, Yemen. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Memorial University, Canada, working under the supervision of Prof. Octavia Dobre and Prof. Telex Ngateched. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queen’s University and McMaster University, Canada. His research interests include wireless communications, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology, physical layer security, non-terrestrial networks (NTNs), AI, and 6G and beyond enabling technologies. Dr. Khoshafa serves as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) Member for the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference and a reviewer for several IEEE journals. He has been recognized as an Exemplary Reviewer for IEEE Wireless Communications Letters in 2024. He has received several awards from MUN, including the Fellowship of the School of Graduate Studies, the Recognition of Excellence Award, the International Student Recognition Award, and the Graduate Academic Excellence Award.

5- Our survey "RIS-Empowered Rate-Splitting Multiple Access Towards 6G and Beyond Wireless Communications Networks: A Comprehensive Survey," has been published in TechRxiv, Feb. 2025.
6- Our survey "Beyond Diagonal RIS-Aided Wireless Communications Systems: State-of-the-Art and Future Research Directions," has been published in arXiv, Mar. 2025.
7- Our paper "RIS-Empowered Secured Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks: Opportunities and Challenges," has been accepted in the IEEE Communications Magazine.
